Jackson Baptiste was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He began painting at the age of 13. Not long after, he abandoned painting with brushes in favor of razor blades and palette knives, which lent a certain transparency and uniqueness to his paintings. Mostly self-taught, he is inspired by the work of Claude Monet and Pierre-August Renoir. Like these master artists, he too paints using the impressionistic style on canvas. His favorite subjects are seascapes and scenes of peasant life. Baptiste currently resides in Alpharetta, GA. He holds a BS degree in Finance and a Master's degree in International Business. Outside his love for painting, he enjoys playing soccer, tennis, basketball and racquetball.
